The TMJ School of Dance is the official training institution of the TMJ Dance Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children and families in historically underserved communities through the transformative power of dance.

We are a world-class dance training institution, offering high-quality classical and contemporary instruction through a culturally rich curriculum. Our training fosters artistic excellence in both technique and performance, while honoring the diverse cultural experiences that shape our students' identities.

CORE
CURRICULUM
Our core curriculum is thoughtfully designed to provide students with comprehensive training through a structured foundation in Classical Ballet, Horton-based Modern, and Jazz Technique.
Students in the Primary and Junior Levels are required to complete one full year of Ballet Preparation before advancing into the Pre-Professional Division, ensuring proper technical development, discipline, and readiness for advanced training.
Pre-Professional students are required to enroll in both Ballet and Modern Technique as foundational prerequisites for participation in all supplemental and specialty curriculum offerings.

CURRICULUM
Our supplemental curriculum is designed specifically for Pre-Professional Division students seeking advanced, specialized training beyond the core technique curriculum. These courses include Acrobatics, Performance Repertoire, Dance Theory, and Anatomy, providing students with a well-rounded and comprehensive artistic education.
The supplemental program is designed to support dancers pursuing excellence in stage performance, scholarship and competition opportunities, collegiate and conservatory preparation, and admission into prestigious national and international training programs.
